You mount the main unit where it can see out the front and back regardless of whether or not the concealed display is in use. It either needs to go somewhere on the windshield or somewhere on the headliner.

When I had my V1 in my old Camaro with the concealed display, I mounted the main unit on the headliner, and the concealed display was mounted next to the cig. lighter just in front of the shifter.

The display is concealed so that people behind you can't live off of your detector. I mounted mine on my instrument bezel with some velcro, I can see it easily but nobody behind me can see it.

Are you serious? I can't say I have ever noticed what was going on with a detector....nor have I ever wanted to look for one. Normally I pay attention to the road, not what's going on inside someone's car.

Read what valentine has on their web site, unless they changed it in the last year that is one of their reasons.

I appreciate that you drive as do most of us, a couple or three of cars ahead and always looking behind, but...

I have Valentines on all of my cars and I can't tell you how many people "hook" onto me when I'm running the Interstate or a bad speed zone in town.

Can't live without the arrows (could live without the asshoxxx behind me)!!!

Good luck...

yeah when i first saw "concealed" unit i was expecting the main unit to be more out of sight completely...similer to the one Escort makes thats like $700.00. but i realize now that its just a way of moving the detected out of plain sight so others cant see it. no biggie, not like ill be returning it b/c of that...lol...things badass!

Valentine vs Redline almost a dead heat. advantage of Valentine are the arrows
advantage of Redline is not detectable by radar detector detectors and the awesome distance it picks up.
If the cop is always ON....Im am picking him up from miles away.

REDLINE Owner here. I have mine hardwired and mounted above my rearview mirror. Yes above the mirror! Rear signals are picked up from bouncing off the windshield and hitting the front of the detector.
works prefect up there and cant be seen from the front at all or from the rear. I have the the conceal unit mounted at the bottom of my drivers a-pillar right above the vent on the dash. I have the redlight blacked out so it doesnt shine at night. I also have the ESCORT external speaker wired and hidden under the dash behind the console on the hump. I can have my stereo blasting and still hear the warnings very easy. It also not detectable. I can be sitting right beside a VA state patrol and he knows nothing. HAHA!!!

I had it happen to me once on a cross-country trip...I got the concealed display shortly thereafter.

Dumb question as I am not up-to-date on detectors....what are the new ones offering? Sounds like radar is still most heavily used, but what about laser detection? Used to be by the time a detector alerted you to laser, the reading was already taken.

not really offering alot then usual.
Escort and Valentine are the top of the line dash mount RD.

Redline and Valentine are the best you can get....youtube em

once laser is detected....yes most of the time youve been had....
but also it could be your radar is picking up laser traffic from them targeting a different car. Happened to me in Alabama, I was picking up laser everywhere and they were pulling over everyone but me...lol! to bad for them.

you can also youtube laser

That blows my mind. But, like I mentioned I don't look for them...and I also don't use one.

The other benefit to the remote console on the V1 is easy access to the mute button.... Rather than reaching up to the main unit to silence alarms.

I have mine mounted by the t-top above me... So only I can see it and it quick to see the arrows even with my periferals.
