Sometimes mine gets to about 228 and then the fans turn on. The car usually drives at 204 in the city but sometimes it gets a bit warmer while city driving. On the highway it rides at 194... Are these temps normal for a bone stock v1?

Looks normal to me. You can do a lower thermostat and adjust the fan settings in the tune if you want it to run a little cooler but that seems like standard temps to me. BTW I dont recommend doing a thermostat UNLESS you adjust the fans to come on earlier.

Fwiw, oil temp is probably better to watch. Water temp is more of a measure of how much heat is being removed. Oil temp tells you how much is left.

Probably a minimal distinction, but if you want to stress about something...

well I was going to throw in a 160 stat but I am a month or so from a tune. whats the harm in having it without the fans set yet?

Hottest ive ever seen mine is at 218 and that's when it was 105f out. I also ride at about 194 on the highway. My thermostat is stock as well. As the link above shows, temps vary on the Vs and they do run hotter than most cars. You are fine dont sweat it
