What is your alternator mounting setup? need help
Okay, i did a search and didnt come up with much.
I am having a problem with my current alternator mount. Not sure the brand or model, it was on the car when i purchased it. It's just not right.
The back of the alternator hits the valve cover. Even when it's touching it is still to far offset with the crank pulley. Right now it has a half belt on it to keep it close to lined up. If making a hard pull it will kick the belt off. Looking for a fairly cheap fix because it is no fun having to be light on the throttle all the time.
In the end i just want it right and not have to worry about it, so let me know what mount you are using or Know would work for my setup.
Its a 93 fox with a 5.3, has a passenger side mount turbo. Only thing the belt needs to run is the alternator and the water pump. Heres a small pic for reference to what it has now. Basically it has a small aluminum mount on one side and a heim joint for adjustment, the other side had a bolt with a big spacer that thread into the block?

The car doesnt have flipped manifolds. It has actual turbo headers. they are v banded though. I can get some better pics of the lower are on the D/S so you guys can see if its possible to mount it down there. That would be ideal. If i where to go that route what tensioner would i need since it doesnt have one on it now.
