Found some nice used 245 40 18 MT ET II's. Think they will hook up with this fat a** of a car? I'm not the most advide drag racer, but I do know sticky tires make a world of difference. So, is that loss of 60mm of width going to be very noticable? And should I just wait till either another deal comes along with some 275s?

Power wise the car is just exhuast and intake.

If the deal is good enough and you're not going to run them all the time, then go for it.

They'll hook up very well for your power mods. One thing to keep in mind is that they're shorter than stock so they'll throw your gearing off ever so slightly. They'll look kind of stupid driving all the time on them since they'll be shorter than the fronts, assuming you're running stock sized fronts. I don't see any reason why you couldn't get a 1.8 or better short time on those, driven correctly.

Edit: Just did some searching. Looks like some of the GTO guys have hit 1.6's on them. That's a very respectable short time.

I say stick to the 275, i hit 1.8 on 245 shitty street tires, with 275 you should be on key with the 245 radials... plus your 8.8 will help

I hit a 1.8 with bald 275's, just before the cords showed through. Never saw less than 1.99 on new or 1/2 used up rubber.

I guarantee you those 245s outhook any 275 street tire or any subpar 275 drag radial. I runt he et street IIs on my car and they are the best drag radial I have ever ran as far as traction.

I've seen many people use the MTs and they seem to perform very well... I'd go for the 265/40 unless this is a steal

If you've found a steal of a deal on the 245s, there's not much harm in picking them up. If it's a fair price, I'd just hold off and put the cash towards a set of proper 275s.

Saw your sig and just had to laugh out loud. Weight reducing nab buttons haha. Anyways. If this helps any, I'm not a great drag racer myself and I couldn't hook very well with 275/40 nitto 555s. I have intake exhaust n headers. If the slicks are a good deal then I personally would give them a shot but only at a good deal. At the very least they'll still perform like street 275s if that makes any sense.

I have decided to go in another direction. Road coarse that is. I will come back to the strip when I can get my hands on some killernoodle trailing arms, so I can widen the rims, and then put some 295 drag radials on there. Then we should hook just fine!
