Someone help me with this Nox
i just got my car smog twice and failed both times.reason why it failed was because of high nox ..my nox is a little over 900 and Ca limit is 400..everything pass except nox..i got it check by a mechanic and he said my cats and o2 sensors is working well and the problem is my car was running very lean...i also notice that when i stop the car it sounds like my car is going die..this is after new spark plugs, oil and air filter..idk where to go from here..my baby just had a code pop up(forgot the number)but it was saying something like "lean bank 1"..some help me.im so frustrated.

I'd be looking for a single cylinder lean problem, like
a fouled injector. NOx comes from hot, lean and high
compression.
At 13 years old you're well past where I've seen
silted-up injectors become a problem.
You could also set the fans up to run low speed
all the time and high speed at anything over
thermostat normal idle temps (what you see on
coast-down from rolling, or at idle with low fans
running). That would fix the "hot" part of the
problem, but you still need to find the lean hole.
Reading plugs might show you. An injector clean
& flow service would set you back 10-20 bucks
an injector I expect, and identify any that are no
good after a proper cleaning.
