A1000 or KB Boosted 255.. fuel help needed
Ok guys, trying to get the fuel end of my boost build figured out. What would be better.. I got a guy locally that wants to sell me a slightly used A1000 pump from areomotive. Im already running a Walbro Racetronix 255. Would it be better to retain my current pump and put a run a Kenne Bell boosta-pump on it or should i spend the extra money and piece together my own system with the a1000. Anyone have any good links to an A1000 setup in an f-body? im trying to get an idea for what all would be involved

Unless you sump your tank and make the A1000 lower then the sump, or figure out a way to put the A1000 in the tank, I would go dual 255's in the tank. I blew up the A1000 twice in about 2000 miles, even with the pump controller, 10AN pickup line, 8AN to the rails and 6AN return. It doesn't like siphoning gas and it gets hot circulating the gas with normal driving. I also had problems that it pushed so much fuel so hard that it caused cavitation (air bubbles) in the fuel. Don't get me wrong it's a monster pump for the drag strip, but for a street car your better with dual 255's and a hobbs or rpm switch for the second pump.
