Top Notch Customer Service Tick and FI
Folks,
This is a big THANK YOU for Martin and Jose. W/O going into specifics, Jose started building my turbo, and came up short on a rather critical part that was going to be very long wait. Of course, what part on a turbo isn't critical?
Instead of making me wait, or substituting a different turbo, Martin emailed me and said they would simply upgrade me, at no cost.
As I explained to Martin, I've been hot rodding cars for 30+ years and I can't remember better customer service!
We are lucky guys, to have such a vendor.
A little side note. I was talking to an old friend at the drags last Sat. 35 year service tech for GM. He says, "how did you pick the turbo you are going to use?" I said, well, I found a good vendor on the LS site, Tick Performance. He says, "really? That's not like you, you usually figure this stuff out on your own. Those guys are on the cutting edge of LS stuff."

I agree 100%, Tick has great customer service. Not saying FI doesn't, just haven't used them lol. Most companies t go above and beyond, Tick, VSRacing, and Team Z are exceptions to the rule.

Sure!
The turbo that Ron purchased is a T6 based Borg Warner S400 chassis series turbo with a divided flange. I suggested the 76R cast compressor wheel and 87mm turbine wheel for Ron's 5.3l engine. Since Ron is at altitude a bit, the smaller turbine wheel should make for very nice transient response, but still have enough flow potential to not choke the little 5.3 down at 7000rpm.
Unfortunately Jose was out of the cast 76R compressor wheels and would be for some time. Because of this, Jose upgraded Ron for free to his new Ultra Street/Ultimate Street billet 76R compressor wheel! This thing should easily be capable of 1000rwhp!!!

Thanks for the specs what A/R housing size1.xx ??
I correct me if I'm wrong but, I didn't think they allow billet wheels in ultra street class? I though it was only cast wheel.

I've been chatting with Martin.....this guy has a wealth of information.
I have an Lt1 so you LT1 guys don't be shy to ask about cams and turbo's either. I'm going with him on my cam upgrade.
And he will do his best to get back to yeah on any questions also. I haven't stupped him yet. But will work at it But he is very knowledgeable on turbos also weither it be you are starting from scratch on a system, or figuring out a cam for the turbo(s) you already have. I'm not going to go into the details he has worked out for my system cause it is not one size fits all.....the cam he developes for you is pretty specialized. Its not something you sell when you do something different and next guy can expect the same power lvl's.........cr, piston type, stroke, head size, head porting, turbo size, rpm range, idle, there is a whole slue of questions he asks you so he puts time into it.....to get the valve events to happen when they are suppose to happen and get you great streetability also. Looking forward to the last one as much as the power it will make!
ok long enough........ but could go on on what we have chatted about.
