Default L92 oil consumption

l rebuilt a L92 for a friend's dad because it was using a quart of oil about every 3,000 miles and was told by the dealer that it needed pistons. I replaced the pistons and did a stock rebuild on the engine. l also installed the oil deflector inside pan. He has now put about 10,000 miles on it since the rebuild and it is still using the same amount of oil. l don't see any signs that it's burning any oil and there is not much oil in the intake either and no leaks. Any ideas as to where the oil is going would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

Maybe try an oil/water separator?

Yeah I'm gonna put a catch can on there but there isn't really any indication that, that is where the oil is going.

Have you checked the hose for the PCV to see if any oil residue is in it? If the plugs are clean and there is no oil stain on the garage floor, it just about has to be the PCV. Have you done a compression test to see if the re-ring broke in right?

Yeah, there is a little residue but nothing that I would think would constitute a quart in 3k. Haven't done a compression test, yet.
