Default quick question about O2's...

i just scanned my car and I had 2 left bank 1 lean codes.. Also a low voltage O2 sensor code...This also happens to be the same O2 my a/f gauge is hooked to.. (It isnt working any more It want read any bars) I replaced it with one off the rear i had b/c of 02 sims.... still gives the same code... My qustion is how can I fix this? i allready check the engine sensor fuse its good...

check to make sure the wires aren't melted?

Clear PCM, install new O2 ... drive car around and see if the O2 is still reading lean and setting a code

If so then It's most likely wiring somewhere..

Check where you tapped the wire for your A/F gauge... this may have gotten corroded or come apart

There's an extension on bank one that goes up towards the top of the car
(so it's O2 sensor plugs into extension (comes w/car) plugs into another harness) disconnect this and ohm test it to make sure it's not dead

But my guess would be a problem where you tapped into the O2 sensor for your A/F gauge

Its fine where I tapped into the O2 sensor.... I have checked the plug with an ohm meter... Its not dead... I havent checked the wires being melted... I almost bought a new 02 sensor but I didnt b/c I didnt know if the 02 was bad or not....

hmmm... maybe try swapping both front O2s and see if hte problem follows the sensor?

If it doesn't and you're confident w/the wiring ... then it would be a fueling issue I think?

Maybe a clogged injector on that side of the engine?

Ill double check the wiring but I pretty sure its ok... Ive tried swapping 02's around and still the same problem... The a/f gauge will work sometimes @ WOT but it want read past lean.... I pulled the plugs and all the ones on the left bank are a whitesh color so I know its running lean, that could be whats worng with my gauge.... What should I try first?

damn they're all showing really lean? I'd look at the injectors but not really sure...

There are some places that will do an injector cleaning ... or run some techron injector cleaner through a tank....
but if it's runnig that lean i'd be worried about driving it long

Was anything changed before this started happening?

I dont have an autotap... I was using and OBDII scanner..... It just started out of the blue I was driving then all of a sudden it started missfiring, then the gauge quit working, and it started throwing the lean codes & low voltage on 02 left bank 1...

maybe there is something shorted or grounded in your gauge.

did you try disconnecting the gauge like ataylor mentioned? Sometimes the simplest solution is the best (the gauge may be shorting out internally)

How is it hooked up. At the PCM, O2 extension with A/F wire pre-installed(casper electronics), spliced into O2 sensor harness?
