bleed the clutch is the first thing i would look for , second is clutch engagement . Put it on a level surface and hold the clutch pedal down and rev it up to like 4500 and see if it starts to move or stays still . If it moves your not disengaging all the way and probably need a shim , or you need a new master and throwout bearing .

You may want to remove the RP fluid (synchromax?)...caused some sloppy shifting for me.
It could be a clutch/hydraulic issueif but if you're getting into first and second?.... Did you try going into 5th? could it be 3/4 synchro hub?

Well, it's possible that you are boiling the fluid under hard acceleration, especially if the line that connects the slave to the master isn't routed/insulated properly. But, because you are seeing an issue with a limited number of gears it is possible that you are seeing an issue within the transmission and relative to these gears only. This could be related to synchros, forks, blockers, etc...If you have no other issue selecting gears then this is much more likely than a hydraulic problem.

its just weird, the car ran fine/ shifted fine. did an engine swap, reinstalled everything and now i have this issue. i tried to bleed it more, seemed to get a little better going into 3rd, but not 4th. i tried the holding the car in gear with the clutch in @ 4500 rpm, and the car didnt move. only thing thats different is the royal purple fluid

well an update on my clutch issue. i spent the morning draining/flushing out the old dirty fluid. then i added clean high temp dot brake fluid. bled the master and the slave about 15 times each. it feels slightly better, but still doesnt work properly. then i shift from 2nd to 3rd and 3rd to 4th, it goes in 1/2 way, waits a second or two, and then will go into gear. but its in no way smooth. although i dont have any issues if im downshifting from 5th to 4th, or 4th to 3rd. any other ideas?
edit:
i just tried to adjust my shifter (b&m you can adjust it forward n backward). didnt do much. but i did realize if i double clutch it will go right into gear.
