Default my grandpas collection

Not my cars as the title says but I drool over them enough so I figured I'd show em off a little. He bought the 64 impala ss new when he got out of the army, yes it has the 409 lol car still smells new, the 97 ss he also bought new in 97 car still has less than 3000 miles on it, and the 2010 is a 2ss/rs he bought new when he retired from the post office, still has less than 1000 miles on it. Needless to say he never drives them, the only car I don't have a pic of is the 57 bel air, the only car he owns that he's second owner of, but enough talk here they are:

More pics of the white 97 SS. Not to often you see ya pretty rare white hardtop with the stickers still in the window. Your gramps has good taste.

Thanks man, ever since he bought the 5th gen he moved the bel air to the other garage and its covered up so I haven't had a chance to take a picture of it, but pictures don't do these cars justice, I swear every one of them still look like he just bought em

Lol next time I go over ill try and get some more pics, hell these are old pics anyway taken with the cell phone I had at the time hence the shitty quality, he still has the window stickers for all the cars, he ordered the impala from the factory so he has the delivery sticker as well as the price tag sitting on an easel in a picture frame lol. But I will deff get more and better pics of em all next time I'm over there, possibly this weekend when I'm done with drill

Someone loves Chevys! I always enjoy seeing older guys living life with the hobby. There are a lot of retired collectors in this area of western NC as well as you guys in the upstate. I'm getting there myself.

That 409 is worth a fortune! Any chance you can get a pic of it? Wondering what intake and carb setup it has.

Thanks for sharing, as said, grandpa has great taste in Chevy's!

Yeah they rarely ever leave the garage, and of they do they are washed before they go back in. We were talking today and he honestly bought the 2010 to drive every day, but once he got it and found out how quick it is he said if he drove it every day he would end up without a driver's license lol. Its nice to know I'm not the only one in the family with a lead foot lol

Thank you sir and I had planned on getting pics of the 57 as well today but never got a chance to go to the other garage and uncover it. But I agree the 64 is the **** lol, it trips me out thinking he paid roughly 4k for the car new in 64 and about two years ago he took it to a show and was offered 70k for it. Depreciation my *** lol

Lol thank you sir, yeah he is the man, was pretty much my father figure growing up, if it wasn't for him I'd probably be a druggy, or a convict or worse an import owner Lmao. But in all seriousness he's always been there for me, and anyone fo that matter, hell if you were to walk up to him randomly in public and ask about one of his cars or cars in general you will have just earned yourself the pleasure of having your ears talked off about cars lol.

Thanks for photos. I love the chairs in the garage. Sit back, read a car mag, look at your rides. The only missing from his 'man cave' are some cool petroliana items. I'm running out of wall space in mine.

Yeah his wall space is limited in the garage simply bc he won't put anything on the wall near the cars lol so the back wall is about all he uses for that, and well its taken over by trophies lol

His biggest collection items besides automotive things is are old school coke and shell gasoline products the biggest of those items is an old shell gas pump that he used to have sitting in front of the garage but due to problems with people messing with things around his house he was afraid it would get damaged so its now in the garage with the 57, don't have a pic of it but this is the style of pump it is

Very nice, and expensive too. My neighbor has a Mobilgas one just like that. He has over $2,000 invested.

He bought his up in Gatlinburg during the rod run a few years back, no clue what Ye paid for it but I'm sureit was a pretty penny bc it looks just as good if not better than the one in the pic, it sucks he had to put it up, the reservoir had to come off so it would fit in the garage bc with it on it was slightly taller than the garage lol

Thank you for the 409 pics...can't get enough of seeing those motors - nicest domestic valve covers ever made!

Edit: I imagine that 97 LT1 SS w/cloth interior is not common either!
