Is this tire combo going to look stupid?
I've been needing to purchase new tires for a while, and I happened across a good deal for some BFGoodrich Comp 2 tires that would fit my staggered z06 wheels, but now I'm having a bit of concern that I may have jumped the gun, due to the difference in sidewall heights.
The combo is
Front: 275/40/17
Rear: 275/35/18
I'm honestly not sure if the rears are 18 x 10.5s or 18 x 9.5s.
Did I screw this one up? Is this gonna look goofy? I know people usually run wider rears and skinnier fronts.
Edit: It might help to list current tire sizing. The wheels and tires were put on by the previous owner so that's why I'm not sure if they are 18 x 10.5s or 18 x 9.5s
Current combo:
Front: 245/45/17
Rear: 275/40/18

Yeah problem is I didn't know if they were 10.5 or 9.5, and I had to go ahead and place an order as I'm going on a long trip next weekend and wanted them to be in before I left so I could get them installed.
Also I figured since there were 275s on them now, which is the correct size for 18 x 9.5s, that maybe they were 9.5s.
What do you think in the difference of the sidewalls?

Technically this will be perfect (275/40/17 front and 275/35/18 rear) since their both the same height and the abs system will be happy. Appearance wise it'll look very odd , because the rear tires will have a noticeably shorter sidewalls (1/2") than the front tires. I'd go with a 275/40/17 up front and a 275/40/18 in the rear and it'll look good!

Crap, I was worried about it looking strange. No safety issues at least right?
If I did that though wouldn't the front tires be 1" shorter than the back?
1/2" shorter sidewalls at least -sounds- so small that I'm surprised it's so noticeable.
Eh well since I ordered the tires before I even posted this, I'm getting them in Wednesday either way. Maybe I can find a local place that has some 295/35/18s or 275/40/18s I can swap with.
Also is there any way I can tell whether the Z06 rears are 10.5 or 9.5 without jacking the car up and removing the wheel or anything? I won't have my tools with me for another week.

Yeah DTD is where I got my set, for about that same price.
I'm honestly not sure what I'd be looking for in terms of stretched sidewall, never seen one. I mean, they look the same as the front I guess.
Edit: Just looked up images of a stretched sidewall, so I see what you mean. There is no bulging or anything where it looks like the wheel is stretching the tire. So that probably does mean its an 18 x 9.5, huh?
