Default Warped SLP Lid

Hey guys. Im pretty new with the Fbody game. Just got a 02 WS6 and to my surprise it had many mods on it. Mostly rear suspension. But it has a SLP air lid. Was wondering if its common for them to appear to be warped and not fit correctly. Or is it maybe not installed correctly?

Thx in advance for any feed back.

Kenny.

The rear tabs will eventually warp, and the front of it too where the clamps lock it down, it should be nothing excess though. It also could be mounted incorrectly, does it have the stock accordion bellow on it, or does it have a stiff smooth aftermarket silicone bellow on it? The stock bellow should allow for a good fitment,

It appears to be the stock piece with the SLP lid and a K&N filter inside.

If the rear tabs are properly inserted, the front lips is properly seated and the air filter fits right (not too much pressure required to seat the lid), then the lid will need to be replaced. I think the Blackwing filter is a better unit BTW and the replacement SLP lid is about $90.

I'd ditch the oiled K&N and stick a fram in there first to see if that gives a tighter fit.
