Default Which chip should I get?

I am thinking of getting a chip for my 94 lt1 automatic camaro. Who makes the best chip? Is there much of a difference between brands?

A mail order tune, or "chip" as you call it will give you minimal gains, especially on a what I'm assuming to be stock vehicle.

Well mine is obd1 so yes a chip. No mine is not stock. I have mid headers (previous owner not me I would have gone long tubes) a ram air intake and msd wires. Something like this is what im looking at: http://www.ws6project.com/user_stor/...rogrammer-iii/

Im looking for some quick gains im considering a cam over the winter but I do not believe I will have the money or time.

94s don't do chips. They require reprogramming. The Hypertech is a waste of money. Do some research on mail order tunes. Sounds like you have a lot to read up on.

What do you consider "minimal gains"?

The stock tune is so conservative, that it leaves quite a bit of power on the table.....even on a stock 350.

A tune on a stock 350 has been know to increase power by 10 to 20 HP at the wheels.....depending on the over-all 'health' of the engine.

A tune, not a hypertech. PCM4less, madz28, trifecta, ed wright, there are lots.

Tunercats may help you to avoid future mail order retunes and save cash.
Not sure how much files cost but I saw the program for $69 on the net.
Just a thott since pcmforless no longer offers free retunes.

I personally have no experience with DIY tuning.
But its possibilities seem endless.

Tunercat is merely a program to do tuning. You have to know what you are doing to actually use it. A mail order tune is a tune that someone with knowledge (presumably, LOL) has altered to new specifications. You then load it into your computer or have them do it.
