Ran my STOCKish GTO with Nittos - 1/8th mile
Ok so heres a lil background. 05 GTO A4. Has CAI, Off road X pipe, muffler delete, Hp Tuners. Rear hitch mount removed (20 lbs?)
First time I went out I ran 8.60 @ 86 mph leaving easy and spinning pretty bad in second on street tires.
I went out last friday after buying some Nitto 555R radials. Dropped about 50+ lbs (took out the spare, jack, and front skid plate.)
First several passes were crap. I ran 8.90 @ 81 or so. It was HOT and a total dog. Getting a feel for the tires and where it left best RPM wise. The harder I built it up th esofter it felt like it left.
I let her cool completely and gave it another shot after letting the temp drop with the sun dropping also. I left at 900 rpm and matted it. The tires hooked good but spun into second bad like always. I ran 8.58 @ 85 with a 2.0x 60".
I still feel like It's not where it should be but I didn't leave too hard. Left the tires at 25lbs just like the street and I did a MEDIUMish burnout.
Perhaps what it really needs is some cold weather.

That's really not bad. With about 50 more lbs removed, I went 8.1 at 89 on a 1.95 60' (12.500 at 112) with Full exhaust, ported intake, and street tune. Unfortunately, I had the same problem with spinning going into second.

Wait for it to get cooler, I'm sure there is more in it. I managed a 1.9 60 foot and 8.422 @ 85.06 mph in the 1/8th mile stock with the factory 235's. A month before a I ran that time I went 9.1. I have heard the 555r wasn't all that good at the track though.

You actually are doing pretty good for a close to stock LS2 A4. Might be able to get a high 1.9 60', but with the stock converter, unless you got some big power, you won't 60' much better. 85mph is about where you should be mph wise too. While the 555r isn't the best DR. I have personally went 1.69 60' on the 245/45/17 ones. so they can work. also would'nt go below 20psi. on the DR. If they were Bias-ply sure but radials I usually run them around 22psi. You want as much tire pressure as possible without spinning.

I understand that^ I had a crew cab 5.6 Titan running 8.6 at 83 with headers, tune, 100 shot (13.3 1/4) and 8.7 at 78 with bolt-ons (13.73 1/4, now they are in the low to mid 13's w/o Nitrous), but only ran 13.5 at 105 in my stock A4 GTO. However, track times aside, I raced 2 GTO's in that truck, one being stock, and got beat like I was standing still passed the 1/8th mile. A4 GTO's benefit greatly from a tune.

Get a better tire those are garbage. I ran 12.9x on BFG kdw2 almost stock 18" rim. You have the 17" rim so just get some M/T DR and call it a day. It may be just me but I never really liked the nittos.

I ran them at 25psi and didnt get them too hot. I know a better time can be had if I wanted to push them but honestly im conserving them. ET streets are awesome. My extended cab truck dead hooked on a 245/40r18 with a 6.0L, longtubes, 3200 stall, 4.10 gears. cutting a 1.80 60'
These arent the best radials but im not losing much time because of them just yet. if any.
