You'll get an answer if you post this in the carbed section.

The Chevrolet Performance LS 327 engine is very similar to the specs you noted and they recommend a 770 Holley Street Avenger Carburetor.

You can't go wrong with a vacuum secondary 750cfm carb. holley 4150 or 4160 style

Seems like a 650 is a pretty common carb sized for stock 5.3's. The smaller carb might be a little easier to tune if you are new to carbs.

As for single or dual plane it really depends on the car weight, gearing and intended use. If you have a stock truck cam and valve springs then dual plane is without question the way to go. The truck stuff runs out of air over 5000 RPM. If you have any plans to upgrade cam and springs than the single plane might be the better choice depending upon gearing and car weight.

The 4160 carburetors are calibrated more for stock to mild street engines. A 750 vacuum seconday carburetor would also be a good choice for this engine and does have a lower cost.

The Street Avenger carburetors are more performance oriented and are actuall based on a 4150 carburetor, but with the addition of a vacuum secondary to be more street friendly. The Street Avenger also contains Holley's newer fuel metering system and easier adjustment of needle and seat along with the quick change secondary spring.

Depends on use IMO......

Street 650-750 VS...650 for a cruiser (best MPG and throttle response) 750 for hot street (street/strip action)
Strip 650-750 DP... 650 with the stock cam and 750 for the upgraded cam.

I say stay away from a DP if there is no stall converter.
