Default Used Cam??

I was wondering if a used cam is something that can be swapped from car to car... I know that certain parts kinda wear themselves into a motor with break-in periods, but is that wear engine-specific?

I have a used cam in my car, but the guy I bought it from only put about 1500 miles on it so it looked brand new when we took it out of the engine, just make sure and look for nicks and worn areas if none then should be fine.

I am by far not an expert on the subject, but I have had two used cams in my car and had no problems. Like he said above just check for knicks and abnormal wear. I always heard that it was no big deal to buy a used roller cam. My .02

hydraulic cams wear very little, there not like the flat tapet cams that wear into the lifter pattern.

What about hydraulic flat tapet cams?

I think JRP means roller cams
