Default Stepping up to a 50cc Fr.

How many of you are running a 50cc acc pump in the front? I'm not stumbling right off idle but I can see on my AFR that when I punch it starts off good and then quickly runs out of shot goes lean quickly then levels right back out to 12.5 at wot. I'm running a 40/fr and 37/rr thinking about going down to a 37 or 35 in the front and running the 50cc.

Any thoughts?

it has just an ever so slight hitch in acceleration and a quick lean spot in wot pulls. It seems that it doesn't get any better regardless how big I go bc the diaphragm is the same size and just runs out even quicker the bigger shot you put it.

No two engines are the same! 110 in low compression engines is just not going to work. The burn rate is just too low.

You can tune a carb around the stumble with air bleeds and squirters. I take the quick way out and 50cc the front.

54/63 squirter size? i think you're confused. the largest available is a 50.

i have a 50cc front, 30 cc rear, with 41/41 combo. seems to work fine. but i'm running a super victor.

I had a 50 cc for awhile because that is what everyone on here said was needed. Then I went down two sizes on the idle air bleeds. That allowed me to go back to the 30 cc with pink cams and 31/35 nozzles. Car runs absolutely perfectly now.

You want the absolute smallest shot you can get away with. You need to tune the carb for slow throttle movements first. That most likely will involve air bleeds and idle feed restrictior to get all the transitions right. A wideband is invaluable for this. If your carb is like mine you may need to drill out the airbleeds and tap them for set screws you drill yourself. Once the AFR's with slow throttle movements are stable, the last thing you adjust is accel pumps and shots.

What is your set up, single or dual plane and what carb?

not very often will you get away with a small squirter size like that with a tall single plane like a super vic. i've done all sorts of air bleed changes and watched the wideband. seemed it didn't perform well even when the meter said it should. i went back to tuning by ear/feel and reading plugs, lol. i just utilize the track for my measurements now.

Remember, when you upgrade to the 50cc pump, you also have to go to a 50cc pump cam. If you just upgrade the pump and do not upgrade the cam to the taller unit, you have done nothing.

Dude, no one is doing anything but giving you info from our own experience. I believe you have had no reason to say anything that isn't true, an I have not seem anyone call you a liar. I am sorry you feel that way, it has been a pleasure to have you as an active member in this section. No two cars are the same, and yours is very well a prime example of that.

maybe consider clarifying your post with "i drilled mine to xx and xx" this way there is no confusion.
