Which rear for 700 whp
Hey everyone.
I have a 94 T/A that'll be getting a turboed 5.3 or 6.0. I'm shooting for 700 rwhp. I am keeping the T56. Car will be street driven, only see the track once or twice a year, and still somewhat a DD. Trying to choose between a 9" or s60. Anyone with good knowledge/ experience/ similar power feel free to chime in.
Ready, go....

I've been looking at the MWC Fab 9. I've also been looking at the s60. I've seen a couple recent threads of people that have had some problems with MWC. My buddy is waiting on his s60 right now, so once he gets his buttoned up, I'll see how he likes it. I don't wanna spend a fortune, but I want it done right the first time, especially for all the power. I'll be doing a decent amount of road racing amd it'll be built for handling and turns, so I don't want a spool.

I had a 9" in my lt1 car didnt care for it much as I had to message the floor board for it to clear some it also seemed to cause a driveline vibration. I just ordered an S60 for my ls1 car as i heard the fit is a lot better.

S60 is a great rearend for the cost, and only a couple drawbacks. It is a very heavy duty rearend, but is also very heavy. There are only gear ratios of 3.54, 3.73, 4.11, and 4.56 available as well. It will come with sway bar brackets, drain, and 35 spline axles as standard equipment.
The standard stamped 9" rearends are good, but do not come with much for standard features and have tunnel clearance issues with the torque arm.
The MWC fabricated 9" package is the best value for 9" rearends. No clearance issues at all, comes with a lightweight adjustable torque arm, and has the most standard features of any aftermarket rearend, as well as the most options available as well. These rearends are lightweight and super strong and used by the quickest and fastest stock suspension f-body cars, and are the most true bolt-in 9" rearend you can buy.
We did go through a rough time earlier this year with a move into our new facility and a customer service person that was struggling with knowledge of our products. This is not the case any more and our customers are receiving the best sales and tuning tech, as well as the best prices.
If anyone is interested in a new rearend of any sort please feel free to call or email us. MWC is a proud dealer for Strange, Moser, and manufacture the ever-popular MWC fabricated 9" rearend package. MWC GUARANTEES you the best price on any rearend or suspension component for your f-body car.

Joe, did you jabe a stamped 9" or a MWC 9"? Not that I doubt your product doesn't fit, I'm just curious. Haha. I read all about that deal with Shane or whatever his name was amd the shop move. Other than that, I've jeard nothing but good things about the masterpiece you make. I'll probably shoot you an email here soon to see what set up you recommend for my goals. Thanks!

I purchased a MWC Fab 9" just prior to Holley Fest, installed it drove 500 miles raced and drove home. Ran great! We have another MWC Fab 9" approx. 4-5 yrs. old only changed the fluid and have had no issues. You can take the info that everyone gives you and also talk with each company that builds rear ends to get their ideas and then decide what is best for your application for the amount of money you can and are willing to spend.

Nice. What is the usual build/ship time on these pieces. I know it's a standard couple of weeks, and for a while, people were waiting several months due to back ups with the shop amd whatnot. Am I gonna be looking at the same thing? I don't mind the wait since my 10 bolt is still working good, but I don't wanna wait forever. Haha

Ya I don't mind the 2 months. But some people were saying they waited like 5-6 months. But that's also when they were in that rough spot. I'll be contacting them soon.

This time of year we can usually get rearends out pretty quick. We are currently in the assembly and shipping process on several orders right now and will be gearing up for the spring rush soon. Thanks for all the orders and for any one interested in any rearend or suspension part for the f-body cars then MWC is a one stop shop.
