You set it to "Learn" mode, and it monitors an O2 sensor in your mid-pipe while you drive around, calculating tweaks to your A/F table. You then accept the changes, and it programs that info into your Power Commander map - basically a big table of TPS% vs a Fuel Modifier(+/- stock as a percentage).
You can tweak different sets of cells to soften the low end, increase cruising MPG, richen the top cells for spray, or just tune for power all around.
