TD's dumped = great Out the back now = Rasp??
I have OBX Long Tube Headers, decided to get rid of the raspy Y setup and go with True Duals solely for sound purposes. Ordered a Phab 3" x-pipe with bullet mufflers dumped before the axle and it sounded awesome, mean, deep, smooth. There was no rasp whatsoever but it was LOUD as hell in the cab from all the drone. Couldn't stand the rattle trap so I decided to run it out the back to help solve that problem.
After going out the back I Now get a little rasp or something at some varying RPM ranges under medium to heavy throttle, it just doesn't have a nice solid deep aggressive sound throughout like I want. Plus there's still drone around the 65-75mph range. I've read nothing but great things at how Duals have the best sound and just want to achieve that too.
So is this the result of going out the back? That's all that changed since it was dumped. The tailpipes weren't mandrel bent (hydralic press) but they are only 30-40 degree bends so we're not talking much restriction here at all. This is the only point in the system where there are bends like this. Or is it the tips perhaps? They are 3" out dual tips and originally had a 2.5" inlet. The shop just cut off the inlet and welded the 3" in Tailpipes closer to the split where it becomes 3" Exhaust guy said it wasn't a problem mating these and IMO it doesn't look bad at all. Could this awkward sound be something small like that??
Should I change the mufflers, change the tips or have the guy redo the tailpipes with mandrel bends?

On those setups you've seen, do you know if they had cats or anything in front of the mufflers? With the exception of mufflers I would prefer to leave it open like I have it...
