The best street cam with big numbers
I've been considering going with this cam setup from SLP, looks pretty good to me, but is there any issues with it? Any experience from you guys with this cam?

It looks good, and I'm hoping its a pretty flat gain all around the board. Is there any bigger ones that make even more power that are still streetable?

there are guys with the G5X3 in their daily drivers and would make more power than that, plus i wouldnt get anything from SLP, you can get something better for cheaper at other shops.

Read this forum for the next week before you make your purchase.
You'll change your mind
Not that SLP doesn't make quality stuff, its just you can make more power with less money elsewhere.

A G5X3 is extreme in terms of Piston to Valve Clearance.
The Thunder Racing TRex is another extreme cam.
A bit on the smaller side:
You can make 485hp (412rhp) cam-only with some of the latest FUTRAL cams, the Texas Speed & Performance 231/237 has been known to put down around 410rwhp.

Edit, I have yet to see a cam that pulls all the way to 7000 like the G5X3 114 does, and I even have a stock LS6 manifold and stock heads!

The FMS cams offer EXCELLENT driveability for the MOST power out of any camshaft IMO. There are FMS camshafts making upwards of 470 RWHP with near stock driveability.

Thanks for all the help guys. Right now it doesn't show any of the parts or pricing though, it just says "2004 Online Parts Catalog Coming Soon". Does FMS make the G5X3? Never heard of that one before. If not, what's the advantage FMS has over that?
