Cam and overlap question

Cam and overlap question
Hopefully some TSP guys or any of the Vendors will chime in on this..
Im Ready to cam my c5 M6.
Current mods are Lg longtubes, no cats, ziptie mod, 80mm TB.
I had the 228r 112lsa in a previous car but hated that I stunk any time I went somewhere..
Ive been thinking of going with the same cam but on a 114 because it has
0* of overlap where as the 112 has 4*
My question is, is 4* difference enough to remove some of the gassy smell at idle and hopefully make Daily driving more pleasant?
would a reverse split be better for me?
I Need some opinions
what cam should I do and not stink!!

I just tuned a 02 Z28 today with a TSP 228 114. The car has texas speed true duals and bbk long tubes (no cats). There is absolutely no gas smell. The car drives super nice and sounds good. Idle is set at 725 rpm warm. It has a small amount of lope but pulls great. It's a great daily driver cam.
