Default Cam for LS3/S480?

Been trying to make a decision on a cam. And since I don't know what the hell I am doing when it comes to picking the right cam for my setup I decided to enlist the help of the fine folks on LS1tech! Been looking pretty hard at Tick performance's "Stage 3 turbo cam". Good choice or not?

Setup:

Forged LS3 with 9.3:1 compression
LSA Heads 70cc
Stock LS3 intake with NW 90mm Throttle body
Borg S480 96mm w/ 1.32 housing (standard cover & wheel)
TH400 w/ 3600 Stall
9" w/ spool and 3.00 gears
28" MT Radial
Full weight minus the typical(a/c, spare, front sway bar)
Car does have BMR K member/upper/lower control arms to save a little weight.

Car will run on pump gas and meth 90% of the time.

It is just something to run around town with on the weekends and drive to work once in a while.

I really don't care how "violent" or "mild" the cam is as long as it's not dying on me at stoplights and what not(I know that has entirely to do with the tune)

The goal is 800whp on pump gas and meth. I have access to 110 at the pump so it would be nice to be able to hit that magic 1000 whp on race gas though. I'm not too hung up on dyno numbers though.

Brian Tooley, or look up John Bewley on Facebook. He spec'd mine and ordered yesterday.

You need to give more info. A cam will make a world of a difference on how the car sounds, performs, and drives. Lots of people have their own opinion on what they want so one persons "good cam" might be someone else's "nightmare cam". This is to say nothing about the variences between cars also. Just the difference between an automatic car and a M6 car will make a difference in how the same cam will perform car to car, let alone if you are using the car as a track car vs a street car.

Intake manifold is pretty important variable, as is the desired operating rpm range

Updated info. Don't know how fast I will need to spin it to make the power I'm looking for.

Well, you will need to decide what you want. A 21X/21X .5XX 114 LSA would be amazing to drive around town and get right into boost. But it's not going to help you yeild any 1,000 RWHP. Then again if you go with a 23X/23x .6XX on a 113 LSA it will yield more total power, but it's not gonna be a very good driver to and from work, and it's gonna hav quite a bit of turbo lag until all of a sudden up top the boost and the power are gonna hit like a freight train.

It sounds like you want more of a enjoyable driver than a dyno queen that's a bitch to drive. I'd look for something in the 21(teen)/21(teen) to low 220's and cut on a 114 LSA.

The details will be for the experts like Brian Tooley to figure out the rest. But that's essentially what you are looking at.

Ive had good luck with my comp 227/235@.050 , .614 /.624 114+4 in my square port 6.0 . It has decent low end, is fully spooled up by 3100 rpm, and peaked at 6700 with a vic jr intake. Im sure your ls3 intake will imrove low end compared to my vic jr, and it may peak 1 or 2 hundred rpm lower.
it made 1067 flywheel hp @ 16 psi. Im sure with a couple more psi it would make 1000rwhp through an auto trans

What kind of fuel are you running? Pretty solid numbers. I see you are running L92 heads. Those heads ever give you any trouble with the boost you're running?

Running 91 pump gas and 50/50 water meth at 10psi on street, and 100LL plus 50/50 water meth at 16psi @ the track.
L92's have not given me any trouble

Same as race fuel, Which has lead. There are no cats on my car so leaded fuel is fine
