Default G body 5.3 turbo single turbo, which manifolds

I'm building a 79 Malibu 5.3 S475 turbo, looking for suggestions about mounting and which manifolds to use.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Truck mani on the left and LS4 on the right fit perfectly with any accesories. A truck mani can be made to work on the right side with reworking the exit angle. Search my user name, there is a hotside for a Gbody that I sold on here.

I'm using the holley manifolds flipped upward. They will not fit foward and down facing. With forward and down facing it hits the frame rail. Truck manifolds flipped should work also. Other options are obx headers, va speed headers and maybe stainless works. You will have to relocate your steering shaft or message the header so it doesn't tuoch.

I mocked up the ls4 manifolds on mine. Drivers side is up and forward and pass side is down and forward. Had to do a little grinding on the pass side to clear frame. Ground off heatshield mounts. Nice looking manifolds. Clears f body accessories and looked that stock coils and wires could be used.

Can you post pics? Also post the part # for the manifolds you used?

Thanks

To clarify for a couple people on pm's:

Right side truck manifold down and forward on the left side with a vband, clears steering shaft and truck, vette, or camaro accessories.

LS4 left (front) manifold on the passenger side, down and forward with a vband.

I dont have any more pics of that one right now as I sold it but Im doing another soon and can post some more pics as that one gets finished. Two truck manifolds on that one, down and forward.

Flipped truck manifolds. Works great. Not the prettiest set up but for the money spent it is hard to beat.

Not sure on power. I ran the stock 28 lb injectors last year and they were maxed out at only 5 lbs of boost. The datalogs were showing 105% duty cycle. The car felt very strong and would blow the tires off easily.

The math shows it should about 350-370 flywheel horsepower at that duty cycle but I never bothered to dyno it as I wasn't that interested and knew there was a lot more waiting to be wrung out when I turned up the boost. and added bigger injectors.

The turbo is a 70MM. It is an older Master Power with a .68 A/R on the turbine side which is probably a bit small for a 5.3 but the boost happens instantly!

I just had a set of 80 lb Siemens Deka injectors show up today so this Spring I will be able to crank up the boost and see what happens. Then a trip to the dyno to see what she is actually putting out.

get the hooker manifolds there smooth looking and tight to the block. I love mine.it looks like you put an effort into your build rather than using some old junk manifolds.
