T56 Bellhousings
Are all the t56 LS bell housings the same?
Im going to be putting a T56 Magnum in my 69 Camaro. Motor will be LS of some kind, crate motor, full custom build, aluminum or iron block, its all up in the air.
My question is are all the bell housings the same? American Powertrain sells one for $299. There are some on ebay that look to be Tremec parts for 229. The Part number on the is 1386-212-005

yes make sure you get an F-body or f-body replacement bell housing.
I wasn't that smart and am paying for it.
edit...also measure measure measure when you go to stab the trans. Just to double/triple check everything. the wrong combination of parts can cause massive headaches.

Why buy a stock bellhousing when you can get an aftermarket steel and have
protection from an exploding clutch disk or flywheel. Unless you are not going to race it or run up the rpm's while cruising it just adds safety. Even if money is an issue you should find one on this site cheap.
