Default Aes 390 / F1A results?

Alright I'll start by saying I wasnt very happy with the results. Current set-up is an AES 390 with an F1A (3.90 pulley), Brute speed cam, tfs 220 heads and ls6 intake. Fastest run of the night was 131 mph using bfg dr's that was with 12 lbs of boost. I have the small hat on ill be changing it the next time I go to the track. I did see belt slip with the Aster Bracket and I believe because its not truly aligned correctly. Aside from these issues how fast can this setup go? I was hoping to be in the 145's mph is that wishful thinking for 4000 pound ta with me in it? Oh its a 6 speed..Any help appreciated. Thanks

without and videos, timeslips, dyno graphs, tuning information....its really hard to just tell you why its down on ET, but I can tell you I expect mine to run an 8.xx sometime this year. @150mph or so.

No dyno chart my 1/8th was 102 mph. How much boost should I be expecting with a.3.90 pulley. I did see about 15 lbs but that was at 7400 rpms but that was not at the track.

7400 rpm? that thing quit making power long ago. you prob needed to shift at 6500-6700. unless your running a pro flo or vic jr i have been told that the ls6/plastic intakes generally make power in that area. if your making 15lbs that sounds about right.

102mph is very low. I would like to know who is tuning the car. of course it being 6 speed hurts but that is still a really big gap. at 15 lbs that thing has to be making a MINIMUM of 800 hp if tuned right. an 800 hp car will trap higher than that blower the tires off.

Its definitely not my tuner he's solid. What about the cam do you think I can go bigger or is that good enough to trap in the 140's?

Something doesn't sound right. I'm trapping around 143-144 and I've got the F1A w/ 5.25 inch pulley. That's with AFR 225 heads, same cam, TSP headers and rod bolts.
I did just switch to a FTI TH400 though and I'm running meth (Alky Control kit). Maybe there's a boost leak somehwere!

Sorry Andy, I've been watching the Daytona 500. We were seeing 18 to 20 psi of boost with my 408 with the 7.65/3.90 blower pulley at 6600 to 6800 rpm. KP was running 8.80/8.90 at 150+ with my cam and an F-1A. Bob

A 28" tire with a 370 gear is actually like running a 350ish gear. So couple that with a 6spd, you're pushing more gear then you would think.

I bet you're barely getting into 4th gear before the traps.

To give you an ideal I'm at around 3850 w/driver and I trapped 112mph in 1/8 and 140.47 in 1/2 mile making 15 lbs of boost
3.73 gears and 28" tall drag radial I'm auto tho.
