Default ls2 or ls6 intake on ls1?

Is it easy to pull an intake manifold? I was thinking of buying an ls6 or ls2 intake. Is it worth it? What kind of gains would I see?

Also if I did that I guess I'd pull the throttle body, to port at polish it do you just sand the inside down and polish it/

the ls2 intake isnt worth it.... not any better than an ls1 its a terrible design. the ls6 is though. you will need ls6 steam tubes and it is a direct bolt on. 10-15whp is about the norm. i would also get an ls6 pcv valley cover while youre there

Ls6 just for ease of the swap you can re-use everything like fuel rail,injectors,throttle body and steam lines just knock out the underside plastic ribs and you're done.

Now if you plan on porting the intake there has been big debates over which is better in the long run for that.

I just grabbed a small hammer and a medium sized chizel or flat screwdriver and chip it away.Took maybe ten mins and then I used a file to clean up the edges.

Lots of write ups showing step by step process.

There is a thread on this site of some guy doing back to back dynos testing between the LS1, LS6, BBK, and a FAST if you can find it. Basically in comparison to the LS1 intake:

LS6= +5 hp
BBK= +10 hp
FAST= (I think it was like +15-20 hp, I don't remember this one exactly).

Those were his results based on back to back dynos. Because of this I picked the BBK.

LS2 is not even worth mentioning IMO.
