Default Removing rear deck on V1

Not sure if anyone remembers but I've been having some wiring trouble in the back half of my car. What's the easiest way to remove the deck lid that houses the stock sub? It looks like you just pull the black pins out but I feel like it would rip the carpet instead of pulling the pins.

I never could get mine out. It's like it has something holding it at the window?

I noticed that too but I also didn't remove the sides at the time so I'm gonna give it a shot this weekend if the rain holds up. I'm sick of not having a radio

If you get it out maybe get some pictures of what's holding it?

Yes but doesn't really show what's holding the back of the package tray. I was wondering if mine wasn't glued in with the window.

Anything is possible unless you bought it new. Unfortunately it's raining all weekend so I won't be tackling it for at least a few days. If it's slow at work I may pull it into the shop and have a crack at it

The seat back plastic frame/surround pushed down on the rear deck so you have to pull it forward and then lift the rear deck up and then it will be free to slide forward. And yes you have to have the side panels off... don't pull on them... need to get that 7mm bolt out from behind the ABS clip...

I had my sail panels off and the rear seat pulled. I had to pry my package try around the seat belt retractors to get under it. It still would not come out of the car, something near the back window is holding it, and not sure what and didn't want to break it pulling on it.

There's a couple clips on the front edge of the rear deck but I'm sure you had those popped out.

Yes, had to pop them out to tilt it up to be able to get underneath it. The p annel just won't pull out.

Something is rattling under my rear deck on the right side of my '05. Anything common come to mind?

Sorry for the bump but I promised I would give my 2 cents once I got around to removing it.

The only things holding it down are the 2 black clips they mention in the link above. There's nothing in back that's holding it down so my guess is you were stuck under the seatbelt retractor. It happened to me and it looked like it was stuck from near the rear window so I could see how that could have happened to you.

As far as rattling, there's not much there that can rattle. Perhaps it was remove once and something was left behind? The only other option is one of the clips holding the wires down came loose but I don't think that would be noticeable at all.
