In ground pool Houston area
Hey guys I'm looking to get a In ground pool installed and been doing a lot of research online but was wondering if any of you had any experience with any companies here in the Houston area and if you recommend a good one. Thanks for the help.

My advice would be to stay away from the guys who advertise the most. We got quotes from two of those kind of companies when we built ours about 6 years ago and they seemed quite worthless.
Settled with a local, family-owned business based on recommendations from friends and others and they did a great job and the attention to details was considerably better from the get go.
This of course in the DFW area.

OP: Please give my friend a call, he is VERY GOOD. I have recommended him to a fellow coworker and he was very happy with the job and even wrote a review on his website: http://www.springpools.net/ My coworker's name is Michael Fleming.

If this question is for me, I must admit that I have very little knowledge on the price of pools. While Mike is a good friend of mine, I know very little about the business, I deal with Pipeline Operations.

My buddy's parents spent around $60K for theirs, but it had bells and whistles. Had heaters, color changing lights, jets all around the pool and visual jets that shoot up into the air from the edge of the pool, concrete bridge over pass, 12' deep end, 3' shallow end, etc. I would think they would range from $20K and up.

Altogether we spent over 30K at the time since we had to move and reconfigure our sprinklers and my wife did a lot of landscaping and I laid down a lot of flagstone and other stones.
Original budget we were thinking about before starting to talk to the builders was about 20-22K.
And if somebody is looking for a good builder in north DFW, check out Gohlke Pools in Denton.

Thanks for all the info guys. I found two companies that I will be calling to get estimates. I have another question where do I go to get the plot plans for my house, I live in Spring TX, Harris County? I looked to all my paper work when I bought my house and not seeing one so either I did not get one or I lost it.

I contacted Harris County Clerk. This is what they replied:
Thank you for contacting the Harris County Clerk’s Office.
We do not record individual plot plats or surveys, only subdivision or condominium maps/plats.
