Default which flexplate?

I have this posted in the external engine forum, but no respose yet. Thought I would try here since I plan on doing the swap this weekend and I need the info somewhat quickly. Car is a 2002 Trans Am 5.7 with the 4l60e transmission. Engine is a 2002 LQ4 with the 4l80e flexplate. I will be keeping the 4l60 in the car. I have a new 4l60 flexplate (p/n 12637677) and the original 4l60 flexplate ( 12602448?) in the car. The engine is on a stand and I dont have enough clearance between the crank and the stand to remove the flexplate to see if I have the short crank with the spacer. I will try to get it loose and get a light down in there, but it is tight. Anyway, do I have any match of parts that will work or do I have to find another flexplate ( and if I do, which flexplate do I need)?

Try in Automatic Transmission. In fact, there is a good thread there with a good chart posted by Chris from Circle D.

02 LQ4 should be the short crank with the removable spacer. So either of your 4L60 flexplates should work, just remover the spacer. You will need new crank bolts, yours will be to long and they are also a TTY bolt. I suggest to use the newer version of the 4L60 flexplate, they seem to hold up better.
