Default fast intake advice

After much debate, I think IM going to try and pick up a fast intake. I have debated back and forth from every intake option out there, I was originally going to reuse my lq4 truck intake. Here is my setup. 370, prc stage 1 ls6 heads, 228r cam.
I am going to try and find a used fast and throttle body. I see that there are many different sizes of fast Intakes on the used market 78/90/92/102,
what size would be best for my set up?

Go for the 92 or 102. The 102 will require different injectors and fuel rails if you are using stock parts. The 92 can use stock rails and injectors with an adapter kit. Both will easily support your setup, the 102 is worth a few HP more.

I currently have the 8.1 marine injectors, so I'll sell them and buy whatever I need for the fast

These intakes will make about 10-15 hp over a LS6 intake just so you know

IM not disagreeing with you, but
I was thinking I would make a little more power than that being that I think IM pushing the limits of my truck intake, or an ls6 intake if I had one

External for future reference, but the mods can move it if they feel the need to.

And I feel that a FAST intake will get you between 15 and 20 more rwhp.

thats a lot of money for 20 horses. Ideally, i would like to run a performer rpm manifold with a 4150 tb, but that manifold isnt available with injector bosses, and i dont think the victor jr is the right intake for my engine or its intended use.

You do not need an adapter kit to install stock injectors on a FAST 92, you need them for the 102.

I'd say between 15-20rwhp on a 92 and 20-25rwhp on a 102. But to make the most of it you need a 90mm MAF(or SD tune), bellows and FTP lid. I personally would also port and port match it to my heads. Gains are also not just peak, you should see that whole bump from ~4k rpms all the way to redline. It is very expensive though, especially when you have to consider a tune is a must.

Yeah, it's a bit pricey when you put it in terms of money per HP/TQ. A single plane intake is a great idea, and I thought about doing that myself, but with having to cut up the cowl and lose the wipers, I decided against it. If you did a Super Victor intake with a 4150 TB, that would be a killer intake/TB combo, but in order to maximize that intake/TB combo, you really need a cam that has been spec'd for the single plane intake. If you do go that route and get a cam that has the valve events for that particular intake/TB setup, it will make killer power throughout the RPM range. Too many times people will run those intake/TB setups, but neglect to get a cam that is tailored for it. If you don't mind hacking up the cowl and losing the wipers, then I'd say go for it. You would likely have to modify the hood, or get a different hood altogether too.

The engine is in a 86 Monte Carlo ss, so I wouldn't have to cut the cowl or wipers, but I would have to measure for hood clearence, but I don't want to go back and buy a different cam. my 228r is cut on a 112 too, and I really don't intend to spin the motor past 6300. That's why I was leaning towards the dual plane performer rpm. But that's not really an option because it doesn't have fi bungs.

That's why IM considering the fast or another intake now, I haven't got the car done yet and it hasn't had it's first tune

I'll move to External.

But yes, a ported FAST 92 is good for about 20rwhp over a stock LS6. Across the RPM range. Unported is more like 12-15. The 102 is good for another 5 or so over the 92.

The irony is that I had no problem picking a short block, cam, and heads. But with the intake, I can't seem to make a decision and stick with it

If you've got the money set aside for the FAST intake/TB setup, then just go that route. You're setup is not really optimal for a single plane intake/TB setup, so you might as well just get as much power out of her as you can and go with the FAST intake/TB setup.
