Default Blown Up 4L70, Need a new One. Ideas

I have a 4l70 in my 67 camaro, ls 6.0 500 rear wheel horse. The trnas has no rev, net and drive all the same. The trans blew up after the dyno. Got the trans from someone who said it was upgraded. Who sells a tran and converter that will hold up. People said go back to a turbo 400 but the 4l70 is in there, wired up and was working unitl dyno. Put 400 miles on it. Dont want a 4l80, not cutting me floor. Anyone have any luck with the 4l60, 4l70 or bite the built and do the 6 speed manual conversion

I just got a level 5 with a upgraded smart tech housing. Good guys. Heres a thread showing them .https://ls1tech.com/forums/automatic...sions-flt.html. You will need a trans like one of these to hold your power.

A 4L70E is just a late-model 4L60E with ISS (Input Speed Sensor).
If you have a 2005+ PCM then order a 4L75E from e.g. FLT. Otherwise, a non-ISS 4L65E will be fine. (Probably little or no price difference).

If your operating system is one for a input speed sensor like the 4l70e has, do not put a non iss trans in there. It will not operate correctly. It will command full line pressures if it does not get feed back from the iss. It will be very harsh shifts and will tear up hard parts in the trans. I don't think hp tuners has a way of making this work. Eflive may have , but I am not familiar with eflive. If you have a non iss operating system I believe you can run either trans.

Also the 4l65e & 4l70e is a 5 pinion and the 60e is a 4 pinion. There is a few other upgrades the 4l60e dont have.
