Default Who has NOT had problems w/ 4L60E?

I'm thinking about putting one in my car with a big stall converter...but I keep reading about all these other guys having theirs blow up after 30 miles and all that kinds of stuff...who here has been running 11's and had no problems? I'm beginning to think otherwise now about doing this...

Check with me later this year. I've run low 12s for 2 years at about 150 passes per year with an ST 3800 and this year I've run 4 mid-low 11s @ 3500lbs with 3.42 gears. No signs of any problems. It's a stock trans with a transGo and cooler.

ZAngel is coming up on a year and a half on hers. Built by a local builder, behind a heads/cam/n2o vigi 3200 setup.

I have been having my car since 00 and have been driving the crap out of ever since. Had a 3000 stall in it for a while and now a SS4000. My car runs 7.5 1/8ths with no problems. (knock on wood)

100 plus track runs on mine with the majority of them with a Yank Y3200 in the 12's. Car has 55K miles and zero problems. Also I deleted TM last year with zero issues after about 25 track runs. I'm getting ready to install a TCI 3800 in very soon in the same tranny. We'll see how long it will last. Changing fluid on a regular basis with a tranny cooler installed is the tranny's best friend.

The trick is to beef up the transmission along with the TC change with a Transgo shift kit, it corrects alot of the little BS things the 4l60E has in it (i.e. springs, metal plungers instead of plastic etc.)

car has had 6 different converters in it, and has never and will never have a shift kit in it. Tune it properly; delete TM, set shifts, and set line pressure correctly (read thread at top of this forum), and i would recommend installing a trans temp gauge to monitor temps. Getting it too hot and the line presssure seem to be the main issues I have read about with trans problems, or not installing something correctly.

I have raced my car for 6 years with a 4l60e, it started slipping a little after 3 years of dragracing .Century trans rebuilt it, then it was running mid 11s put about 300 runs on that. Mike Norris built me a 382 allbore and I had the tranny freshened up again. Since then it has about 150-200 runs in the low 11s. Century builds a very good tranny!

You're not going to get anymore pressure at WOT without the kit are you? That's where you really need it in my opinion.

100,000 miles on the stock tranny and I have been in the 11s for the past year and a half. ST3800 and a big cooler. I'm like Lynda, I'm on my 5th converter.

Just one of those things like MAF's where I have ready too many different things on them, not enough good things to show its worth the money for me.
