Should I trade my TR224 114 cam for a TR224 112 LSA? Anyone else want to trade?
I currently have a tr224/224 .563 114 cam like new sitting in my garage and I am looking to trade it for a bigger one. A guy in town offered to trade his 112 lsa TR224 cam for mine. I have an a4 with all the basic boltons and car is mainly a daily driver on nittos full time. I hit the track maybe 3 times a year. I am getting MTI tuning as soon as I get it on also. Mainly, am I going to gain any ET/MPH and will it hurt my driveability in an a4? A friend of mine has the same cam I do right now (114) and his car does sound a bit smooth at idle with full exhuast on, I would like a little lope.
thanks

a 112 will make an A4 idle like crap unless you raise the idle speed (from what I've read) but it'll also sound lopier <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />
Also if I understand correctly, the 112 will bring the power range down, so you'll peak at a lower RPM, better if you don't want to spin the engine high.

I have the 224/224 on a 114 on my daily driver A4 and I love it!!! It is lumpy enough for me and never gives me any problems. I could see the 112 being a pain in the *** on hot starts, AC on, etc.
Stick with the 114!! <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_cheers.gif" />

Well a lopier idle would be nice, but if it's not going to give me anything but a PITA I will just keep my 114. Would I benefit with stock heads from a bigger cam, like a 230/227?
