Default 4l80e rebuild log, input welcome

I'm doing a rebuild of a 4l80e that seems to be a 93 model. I don't think I've found a better forum for GM trans info. I'll be sure to take a ton of pics from start to finish to help others out in the future. I know I'm a hack and can't hold a candle to the pros here, but I have time and best of all a 2nd car to drive when I really bugger things up!

This is me walking my manx next to my 2010 ISF with a 420HP 5 liter engine. Now decide if you really want to help me!

I'm starting from the output shaft forward since my donor trans is from a 2WD truck and my 2002 Yukon is 4x4.

Oh, the truck. Wifey and I are going storm chasing late this summer and I simply don't trust the 4l60e in it with 145k miles. I've rebuilt everything but the engine and trans at this point. I really need to ensure we can get out of the way of a tornado!

The person that installed the output shaft bushing didn't do it right. It was crooked. Best I could do was to seat it all the way in. Its not %100 perfect as there seems to be a slight variance in its seating by about .005.

Crooked:

All the way seated. How does the bearing look? I see some stress points and light scratches. This is a hydraulic bearing correct? Should I trust it?

Output carrier assembly that rides in the bearing. Not perfectly smooth but should be OK I hope.

Thrust washer. Light scratches. Thoughts?

For those with older trans using the Sonnax case bushing. Some older output shafts with the oil holes will have the holes nearly fully covered up. You'll need to grind a valley in the hole to increase fluid output (Sonnax has instructions on this). Mine seems open enough.

Oh and planetary carriers measured within the .009'' to .024'' acceptable range.

More to come as time permits.

I would replace all of the thrust washers and bushings.

Reaction drum has grooves cut from the reverse band. Can this be easily salvaged or do I need a new one? No prob either way.

This is an intermediate sprag retainer.... I think. Its got damage from rattling back and forth on the tabs. I should probably get a new one. Should I?

Where do I find a new one?! Sheesh! I tried wittrans.com, no dice.
