4L60E VSS Question
Do all 4L60E transmissions use a VSS(Vehicle Speed Sensor) to operate the speedometer? Or do some use a speedometer cable?
I have a Dominator system ordered and this will be for a engine trans swap in my 74 Nova.
I'm just trying to make sure I get what I need as far as parts and pieces not only for the Dominator signals but for the speedometer as well.
Thanks

All 4L60E use a VSS.
I would expect the Dominator to work properly with it and the computer needs to know the speed.
Are you running the stock Nova speedometer or are you going to get an electronic one?
Trying to run a mechanical one will be a huge pain.

I think I'm going to have to use a Electric or GPS Based 1.
Dakota Digital makes a really nice complete gauge replacement cluster, but it uses the ALDL connector to get its required signals(or splice each electrical sending unit wires).
My car is a factory SS with the gauges in the center console, I would like to keep those or update them if I can.
Thanks for the help.

the sender unit adapters are on ebay $28.00. LS holes are metric so they go to standard pipe fitting threads. Oil and coolant adapters. I used them on my 5.3 conversion with no problem. So you should be able to hook up stock gauges with sender units you have.
