Default hesitating problem with car - fuel pump ?

here's how it plays out:

when I start the car up with the engine cold, it starts well, and runs ok just puttering around. However, if I go full throttle, it doesn't have the same 'kick'; E.g: can barely spin the wheels; wheels don't bark going into 2nd. Almost as if the computer is pulling a lot of timing.

then, if I shut the car off, and start it up several minutes later, the engine start up ok, but idles a bit low when it first starts, and when I drive off, it stumbles and hesitates with low power for a few minutes. Then it gets a little better as I drive on.

I already checked the spark plugs and replaced the wires.

are these symptoms of a fuel pump on its way out ??

Fuel pressure fade could be a pump or a filter
problem. At 5 years old, the filter should have
been changed about 3-5 times by now I reckon,
if you're a fan of cheap preventive maintenance.
But you'd want to have some real fuel pressure
info before pinning the tail on the fuel pump.
Various other "usual suspects" in lean-out /
knock retard exist, you want some logging /
scanning to narrow it down.

i know you said you checked your spark plugs and replaced the wires. but i don't believe its your fuel, even though it could be. what about your ignition coils? have you done a compression check? i wouldnt just check your spark plug and wires, try switching your coils around and see if it has a different fire rate.
