Default UD Pulley Problem

I installed a 25% under drive pulley and now it seems that the battery is just barely keeping a charge. I'm thinking the belt isn't turning fast enough. Is there a larger pulley I can install on the alternator to make up for the size of the UD pulley? Is this a problem using ud pullies?

not a larger,but a smaller alternator pulley.
some underdrive pulleys are sold as a set including a alternator and water pump pulley.
here's some old threads for reference
