Or, and forgive me for being an "old guy", you could pull all that stuff out of the car, save the 200 bucks you're going to spend on the pulley, and go just as fast from the weight savings alone.

I have heard this one before and I agree, but I'm just not will to grow up just yet. 35 year old man living and 25 year old boys mind. That why I have about $3500.00-$3800.00 dollar parts sitting at the house wait to get installed. But again I do agree with you.

I went with a smaller alt pulley when I installed my crank pulley. I have an auto and an agressive setup and I dont regret it at all.

If you have a stereo system then you are going to wanna overdrive the alt, its as simple as that

I went with the overdrive alt pulley and have absolutely no problems with charging, battery, etc. Change it to be safe, especially with the bigger stereo.

everyone seems to be leaning to getting it huh? i have a very basic 1 amp system and i did not get the alt pulley. no issues. but when i am rocking out at a stoplight the battery needle will dip a little lower than if the stereo is off.

Hmm,not familiar with this, what is the gains of doing this without the stereo system. I will just be having a gear stall spray set up, lid and muffler too

you wont gain any hp from an alt. overdrive. if you do a underdrive crank pulley you will pick up like 5-10hp.

He's NOT talking about gaining power with the alt. overdrive pulley. He's questioning charging issues.

why would you underdrive the crank pulley and overdrive the alt pulley?

Doesnt that eliminate the power gained from the underdrive crank pulley?
