My Camaro's S1 TR224 cam dyno numbers
As alot of people already know, I decided to build my car again after a 1 year break from the track with it, these S1 heads that I am representing here are the same 10.3-1 heads that we have been selling for a couple years now with great success.
Locked Vig 3,600 #7 pump converter burning 13.0 AF on the WB with the cut out open, full acc belt NO tricks. Best power on average was 410.7 HP @ 6,000 and 402.4 TQ @ 4,600. Hot off the street through the pipes first pull was 402HP/398TQ without tunning.
The dyno sheet will be up soon.
I waited till now to post my dyno numbers because I wanted the track to back up my ET/MPH which is what this is all about, SO, last night I went to ATCO with less then stellar ET I ran a best 118.34 MPH with lousy traction, brand new ET Streets poor tack prep and wrong shift points, tagging the rev limiter in both gears, more trans editing required to solve those problems. I have always ran FULL interior, app 1/2 tank of 89 octane and my bumper supports are in place, no light weight reduction besides the sway bar/spare & jack removed along with DL's with skinnies up front. If I had to guess off the top of my head, I was around 3,450+ weight? I am running a "non stock" gear that I will not mention because I have some more theories I am working on at this time, but there not 3.73's or higher. My ONLY best 60' last night was on an easy foot braked 1,400 RPM 1/2 throttle launch netted me a 1.55 60', tagged the limiter 2 times lifted off the gas 2 times to shift for an 11.55 pass. back to the track this week after trans editing again . These are preliminary test N tune numbers but encouraging nonetheless.
These S1 heads will be for sale within 2 weeks, I have my 12.0-1 compression S2's getting installed once I get some "no excuses" runs from the S1's and it's good R&D for us too!

BIG thanks goes out to the good people at Thunder Racing!
PS. I definately need sub frame connectors now, I broke the top half of the windshield screwing around on the M&T's.
Joe.

Good numbers Joe. With a little more tuning it's come around. If 1.55 is an easy 60' it's gonna rock with an all-out launch!! Good luck.

Very impressive #'s for sure out of Stage 1 heads with 10.3:1 compression. W/out traction you are not going anywhere.. Personally I think your weight was above 3500lbs with what you said you had off the car.. I am sure as soon as you get those shift points corrected you will net the #'s you want. Go get the car weighed so you can post the actual weight..

Cool Joe...118+ is a pretty good trap time for an A4 with full interior, and a 1.55 60' looks good to me too. Glad to see your are getting back into the scene

those are pretty good #'s for a stage 1 head,
12.0 compression on your upcoming stage 2's,,,
wow!! I can't wait to see how those do. I also can't wait to see how my jpr stage 2's do once I get them.

Re: My Camaro's S1 TR224 cam dyno numbers
Here is my dyno sheet, the blue runs are the unlocked "cam only" report. The red lines are the S1/TR224 locked converter runs shutting down at 6,100-200, forgot to hit save changes on edit for the limiter re-setting.

Thanks Scott.

Nice work Joe! I am not surprised at your results, we need more free thinkers to lead us forward with Ls1 performance and Technology!
How about some Truck intake R+d Testing?

Re: My Camaro's S1 TR224 cam dyno numbers
Thanks for all the replies people! It's about time something went right with my own car, for some odd reason, whenever I try to do anything to my own car, it backfires on me or the strangest problems always happen! like the dip stick being stuck in the motor .
Xsessive: I am running the Vig 3,600 #7 pump converter, and yes, open on the dyno seems as if you are not making any power, it's slipping the whole time but locking it down is a more 1-1 RW example unless you have 3rd gear trans slippage or converter splippage "locked". A stock converter looks almost like an M6 on a dyno sheet.
JayLS1: I am using the Isk'y 295 D's with the inner dampners removed so the Ti retainers don't get chopped up, locator cup or not, it happens.
Jeff: I don't know about the part of leading forward of LS1 stuff, but thanks anyway .
