Default What all would you need to get, to make the electronic/induction system on the LS1???

OK, Say I got a longblock, what would I need to complete it??

I know:

Computer
Sensors
MAF
Intake

The reason I am asking is because I may want to start off with an LS1 block and build up, beings I dont have the money to but one off the bat...

Thanks

JustFloorIt, I'm doing the same thing. Its taken me about 6 months to get (almost) everything off of ebay. Here is what I have purchased so far (You wont need the heads as I did, since you have the long block):

  • LS1 Shortblock $326.01
  • LS1 Intake manifold $41.01
  • LS1 Allen bolt kit $51.00
  • LS1 Head Bolt Kit $59.00
  • Chevy LS1 High performance Book $15.95
  • OEM Air lid $10.50
  • Crank Pulley & Belt $13.01
  • LS1 Waterpump $40.00
  • Center-bolt valve covers and coils $50.00
  • LS1 Cam & Pushrods $20.00
  • LS1 PCM & Harness $175.00
  • LS1 Heads
  • LS1 lifter & Rocker arm Assy $71.00
  • LS1 Oil Pump $36.00
  • LS1 Timing Cover $31.00
  • LS1 Air Pump $27.89
  • LS1 Catalytic Converters & Rear O2 sensors $30.00
  • LS1 Fuel Pump & Sender $45.00
  • Dura Bond Cam Bearings $16.49
  • LS1 Cruise Control $1.00
  • LS1 Air lid $1.00
  • LS1 O2 Sensors (Pre Cat) $20.00
  • LS1 MAF sensor $5.00
  • K&N Filter $22.02
  • LS1 Cam Gear $5.00
  • LS1 powesteering cooler $12.59
  • LS1 Valve Springs $20.00
  • Engine Brackets (Alt/AC/pulleys) $50.00
  • Oil Pan $52.01
For a total of $1397.48 not including $302.35 shipping all of those parts.

I'm still looking at spending another grand or more for the following:
  • Radiator
  • Air Lid Base
  • Filter housing
  • T-56
  • Slave Cyl
  • Cooling Fans
  • Fuel Rail
  • Fuel Injectors
  • Retainers
  • keepers
  • Driveshaft
  • Alternator
  • Starter
  • A/C Compressor
  • throttle body
Its taken me so long, because I've been looking for low prices. I recently got a bit anxious an started paying a bit more, not too mention going back to my original idea of building a stroker, which means I will have to replace a lot of these parts with heavy duty/new parts.

Long story short, it may not be any cheaper, but if you can only spend bits at a time and arent in too much of a hurry, you can do it.

Hope this helps,

ROCNDAV

best bet is just picking up a pull out crate engine complete with either the t56 or 4l60e
