Thanks to Ed Wright.. I finally got a new best!
After all my issues with torque management ( Read about it here.. ), I finally got the car to a 1/4 mile track in some good weather on Saturday.. Maryland International Raceway (MIR).
I ran a mind boggling 20 passes! 18 of which were 11.75 or better <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" /> with a new best of:
60ft 1.592 <-- spinning
330 4.729
1/8 7.409
MPH 91.73
1000 9.725
1/4 11.692
MPH 114.25
Race weight was: 3405 (verified on Sunday)
The car still has some suspension issues.. But I can work on those; thankfully the dreaded TM demon is finally behind me! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />
Total list of mods:
Whisper - Carbon Fibre Lid, Ported MAF Ends, Cat-Back, Ram-Air
Whisper - 1" 7/8 Headers & OR Y-pipe
Ed Wright Tuning
ASP Pulley
Ported Throttle Body
BMR Throttle Body coolant by-pass (!TB)
Hypertech 160° Power Stat
Summit 3" Cut-out
15" Welds, ET Streets (26x10.5/15) and Skinnies
Kenny Brown Double Diamond sub frame connectors
BMR Lower Control Arms & Panhard
Energy Suspension Poly Torque Arm Mount
Pro Yank 4l60e Tranny
Yank Ultra Thruster 4600, Torque Converter
Strange 12 bolt w/3.73's
B&M Super Trans Cooler, 24,000gvw
GM WS6 Hood and lower airbox (baffles out)
Weight Reduction:
!Front Bumper support
!Rear seat & belts
!Passengers seat
!Rear Speaker panels & trunk divider
!Front Sway Bar
!Spare & jack
That's about it!
Plans for the future? I'm debating chasing the stock internals route further.. No doubt the car would get much faster with a real weight reduction effort (I have a tubular K & Arms ready to go in)
Or I may go ahead and start shopping for a H/C setup <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />
Only time & $$$ will tell <img border="0" title="" alt="[Razz]" src="gr_tounge.gif" />

20 passes, and no racing videos? You suck! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Razz]" src="gr_tounge.gif" />
Better hurry up and drop some weight on that car before the cool weather is gone. Congrats on the new best!

Congrats! Your car has so much more in it if you can get a decent 60ft time. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Razz]" src="gr_tounge.gif" />

Congrats!!
Dem is big headers and a big converter for a stock motor <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />
I think heads and cam would rock on your car. A good set of 11:1 heads and big cam and your car will fly!!!

Congrats on the new best John. Sounds like you have a plan to do nothing but go faster.

You have already accomplished very respectable ET's. Why keep fighting for a couple of inch's, when you can get heads/cam and leap a mile <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" /> . Nice ET's!

I give up on my quest for 11s with bolt ons. I was going to get programming to remove TM but I'll wait till after my cam goes in to remove it. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />
WILWAXU, you have a PM.

Awesome! I know what your saying about the TM demon. My car falls on its face on every shift, then feels like a Mack truck rearends it. Good job! I bet you find 11.40's if you keep at it.

Whoo Hooo! Way to go!
John, if you had the comp reprogramed, i hope he raised the rev limiter. If he did, with that converter and those big headers: I think you will need to spin the heck out of that stock set up to get your best times. (just a thought)
I would be curious as to hat RPM your combo os putting down the best power with the mods you have.
So... what cam/heads are you looking at? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Razz]" src="gr_tounge.gif" />

Thanks everyone, it's been a rough winter!
Tony: yeah.. it was a ghosttown! Most of the EFA guys missed a great day <img border="0" title="" alt="[Razz]" src="gr_tounge.gif" />
I'm pretty sure the weather in about gone for this "season" at least around here.
Damian: Because I love the look of disbelief in the eye of everyone I tell it's a stock motor! I had one guy crawl all over my car looking for N20 (with a flashlight). I was LMAO!
John C: Yeah, I've always ringed it tight <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" /> . The limiter is set at 6600, normally shifts right about 6400. If it spins, it just touches the limiter on the 1-2 shift.
You think there is a sponsor out there looking for another poster child? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />
