Default i need the smartest ls1 builders

i rebuilt my ls1 with a hotcam ls6 intake double roller timing chain and ls6 oil pump stock new everything else i am getting no oil pressure it fills up the filter but none to the valve covers and dosent seem past that point i am getting some to the back of the motor cause i pulled the rear cover and saw it there

i have checked:

rear restrictive plug on back of block
plug in back of crank
oil galley plug on front of block and driver side of block
oil pump looks fine opend the cover it dripped oil all assembly lube used to prime is gone except around releif vavle. releif vavle seems fine
the spacers for the oil pump seem fine i put them on carefully not to cover the whole

i am out of ideas and in debt please help get this motor going again it's my only car...

How long did you have it running? They take a while to catch prime...

What kind of filter are you using? I saw a Fram filter keep oil from moving past itself and into the motor.

Yeah, I gotta agree. The o-ring on the pickup tube is not sealing properly into the pump body. Check out www.ls1howto.com for a very good tutorial on this specific task.
Hope all works out OK ! Let us know.

If you have all the bases covered, and it seems you do, I would get another oil pump as the relief valve may not be working right. There may not be enough spring tension to keep it closed. What pump is this? Do you have the oil pressure sender plugged in? Not broke? They are very easy to break.... How about the galley plug on the outside of the block.. its a silver allen headed plug.

Yes the oil pressure sending unit is simple to break and a pain in the *** to change.
Not hard just takes time.

Put your stock pump back on and see if that works.

I am pretty sure he has a brand new LS6 pump. I am going over there tonight to see if I might be able to help him find something. I did ask about the sending unit, we will check that out and let you guys know. If we cant find anything I think he is going to install his original oil pump and see what happens.

The small oil holes on the lifters dont have a specific location. They can go in either way. Check the sending unit.

Is this a rebuild or just added a cam to the stock motor? If it is a rebuild I would look at the crank tol. and bearings?

Also, I see you have a double roller chain. Check to see if the crank pully is seated properly. The double roller chains are thicker and might be causing an issue...

the sending unit isn't a issue if no oil is getting to the rockers but it looks to be fine not cranked or leaking

it's rebuilt motor it's a new crank and new bearings i put em in and made sure they were lined up right
