Default 11's.... I can do that :)

I figured yesterday would be one of the last days we would have for cold air so I decided I was going to the track to get my 11 second time slip

I borrowed a friend of mines ET streets and his HPP3 (raise rev limiter) and we headed to the track.

The weather conditions were:
Temp 70 degrees
humidty 60 %
baro ?

My I pulled in bolted up the ET streets and my first pass came out like this. (track's printer was messed up and only printing 60's and 1/4 ET and traps)

60'---1.71
1/4---11.99
mph---115.08

I was shocked, my first run for the night and I set a new personal best I spun a little off the line on that run so I lowered the tire pressure some and the car hooked hard on the next run.

The next run was my best of the night. I launched somewhere between 4500 and 5000 rpms on this run.

60'---1.64
1/4---11.83
mph---115.38

By this time I knew the car had an 11.7 in it so I pulled out my spare tire and jack and raised my launch rpms to about well almost the rev limiter The tires didn't like that to well though. (have this run on video)

60'---1.72
1/4---11.91
mph---115.94

I knew I had spun and that wouldnt be a very good pass so I hot lapped the car and lowered my launch down a little so the tires could hold the track, I still spun though

60'---1.70
1/8---7.60 (printed 1/8 mile for some reason on this pass )
1/4---11.86
mph---115.97

I figured the track was only getting worse so I decided to bolt up my street tires and put the spare and jack back in the car. (damn it is nice being able to drive to the track, run, and leave without a trailer.)

I am not sure of my raceweight but the only weight taken out of my car was the spare tire and jack, I still had my chrome 16" TA rims on the front of the car and 16" salad shooters with ET streets on the back.

I got plenty of nitrous accusations after I stopped running for the night, but I am getting used to those lately

My only new mods since my last trip to the track are: Cut out nostrils on the hood, and HPP3 (for rev limiter)

Congrats.....doesn't it feel good?
Funny thing is, in no time at all, it won't be good enough for ya.
You'll want to go quicker.

More weight,more HP.....it never ends......AAARRRGGG!

I only need more traction, I couldnt hook if I launched any higher than 4500 rpms.

I was goin' for the record saturday.Couldn't hook for ****!
Best was 1.87 60ft.slippin at 3500.
if I pulled a high 1.6x I woulda hit low 11.5x.
I'm thinking about full slicks.
Rageman got lucky.
Mph was almost 118.

Good luck to all in the bolt-on race next cold season and may the force be with you!

Have a nice summer.

I thought I saw another guy,but he never said anything about going for the record.
I will be in the 11.5 range WITHOUT the cold weather.(I hope)

RAGEman-I didn't mean you got lucky on you're 11.56 pass,
I meant I would've had the title if I had hooked.
It's obvious you didn't get lucky. You can drive that beast.
I will not discredit you. You've earned my respect.

I will be doing some mad suspension and weight reduction work when it starts getting cooler. Till then I have to finish up my horsepower mods like: Pulley, some kind of tuning, free flowing exhaust, more intake mods

A 1.5anything 60' would be nice. I plan on the following (if I can get a loan):

12-bolt w/ 4.10's (or 3.73's)
Non-steel driveshaft
Draglites w/ 10.5" ET Streets or Q/T Pro's in the rear
RAM 6130 disk
RAM 402 PP
RAM billet steel flywheel
LS1 Edit tuning
Manual steering rack (power steering removal)
AIR system removal
Lightweight K-member/A-arms
Wolfe 5-pt. chromoly rollcage
BMR boxed poly/poly LCA's
BMR subframe connectors
Fiberglass hood (maybe Ultra Z?)
Dynatech 1-3/4" - 1-7/8" stepped headers w/ race collectors
Eibach drag launch kit
HAL 12-way's
Plugs/wires

It will be great to see you get your mods instead of just guessing what you'd run if you had them! Good luck!

If you get to the point that you are running out of rpms you can get some 27" hoosiers.

is there any reason you are wanting to stay with a DOT tire instead of an actual slick?

Electric water pump of some sort
Battery relocation kit

Are the 27"-ers you're referring to Q/T Pro's?

Actually, the reason is because I'd really like to just have one set of Draglites that I can use at the track and for important street meets, and then just put regular old street tires on my regular wheels.

the 27" hoosiers are actual slicks and hook better than the QTP's

I have thought of stepping up to 4.30's and getting the 27" hoosier slicks on some 15x10 pro-stars. I am not set on what will end up with though
