how much would a shop charge to change a head gasket? thanks guys.

my guess would be 400 bucks or so. i'd just as well do it yourself and drop in some arp head studs and cosmetic gaskets so you dont have to **** with any of that if you ever plan to throw some ported heads on later.

im in virginia... anyone know of anyone who would be willing to make a house call? if so that would be cool cause i could learn some. $400 isn't as much as i expected though. thanks guys.

i live in poquoson, va. its in the hampton roads area. yeah its the passenger side gasket.

well i called a local dealership to get a price quote and they said $2,070!!!!!!! if anyone could come here for less i would really really appreciate it.

That's a good price if they're throwing in a set of polished heads and replacing both head gaskets!!

i know, thats very expensive. i guess this just gives me time to buy whatever else i need and finish the car. oh well.
