Weight reduction continues...
Done...
!front swaybar brackets
!front bumper support
!cruise control and line
!stock carpeting
!passenger seat
I did the ghetto carpet mod. I bought some 3x6 carpting from Autozone, and used spray adhesive. Basically cost me $25 to the front... I could do the whole car for $50 in carpeting.
But the car got a lot louder. !stock carpeting + shorty dual exhaust is a bad combo. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />
Next stop, used PA K-member, and BMR upper and lower A arms... Might ditch the power steering but that's unlikely since I want to put the car on 17's very soon.

Sounds like your getting a little more serious about hitting those 10's. Good luck, bud. <img border="0" alt="[Firebird]" title="" src="graemlins/formula.gif" />

John dont get too crazy.
The car has a 10 in it for sure with good air and some hook.Just keep plugging away.
I've given this ALOT of thought and after gutting my WS6 I decided now it was stupid.I'm gonna pull the juk padding and thats it.I'm NOT taking the air bags out or the PS since I wanna add Fiske wheels to the car next spring.
My diets going well as I've gotten down from 355 to 335 in a month. Now with the addition of the recumbant bike 7 days a week I hope to drop into the 299 range by Oct.That will get me to a 3500lb race weight.
Not to mention losing weight helps your heart
I wanna get down to 235lbs.
Then after I make my attempt at 10's this fall
The car get Corbeau's,3200 stall,3.73's and a SLP Duel/Duel added to it along with the PS hooked back up.I figure I can run 11.5@118 on DR all day long and have a real fun car again.
I wish u luck but dont get nuts just to run a ET.
Its a sickness that I know ALOT about <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

Was 355lbs
Now 335lbs

Re: Weight reduction continues...
I have not weighed the front support but I have seen posted weights of 20-24 lbs. I can weigh it next week if you want.
This ghetto carpet approach is a nice low buck idea if you just want to run a number, and don't want to cut up the factory carpet.
Next stop:
PA Racing K frame
BMR upper and lower A arms
Dynabat liteweight battery
FTRA
I am seriously thinking about a liteweight hood again. Not a pinon, just a 15-20 lb stock looking one.
I am very intent on the #. 90% of the car works, I cut a 1.51 on 26" ET Streets in January, I'll cut 1.4's on the new slicks, I have the QA1 drag shocks set up great... But I don't make the kind of MPH I need to run 10's in the middle of the summer like I had hoped... I'm sitting in 120-121mph hell.
