What cam to get?
I wanted to get a 224/224 .581 112LSA but some have told me that the 112 LSA will make my A4 idle like **** even with excellent tuning by Jeff Creech at CAM. I have also been told that my Yank 2800 TC is too small for this cam. Aaaaaaaaand I have been told that this cam would not be good with my TNT F2 N2O kit. Soooooooooo back to the drawing board, I thought I had decided and after all the searching and education it seems I am right back where I started. Please let me know what you think the ideal cam for me with the mods in my sig would be................Opinions welcomed

with a good tuner you could almost run that cam on a stock converter. 2800 isnt much verter but 224 isnt a huge cam so youll be fine imo. a 112 lsa cam make any car idle different, called a lope, i wont hurt you , if you want it quiet get the same cam on a 114lsa. and a 114lsa hold n2o better but a 112 will hold a fair amount anyway.

So a 114 LSA is better for N2O? Will I get better HP/TQ results with a 114? I could care less about a lope as long as there is no surging and the car doesnt shut off at stoplights. I just want to make max USEABLE power and still be able to drive the car every day without having to keep my foot on the gas to keep RPM up. Thanks for your help!

i have a t1 in my auto (221 .558 lsa112) and have very few issues with my car. sometimes it dies after i first start it if i have the ac on, but thats about it. the 112 will lower the powerband, letting it hit harder lower than with a 114.

Thunder Racing Custom Split Pattern Camshaft for Nitrous/Supercharger applications- 224/227 .563/.569 114 LSA (This cam will check in the 226 range on the exhaust lobe.) 2200-6800 RPM Power Band. Excellent mid-range & high RPM power. Automatic cars require computer tuning and it is recommend for optimum results on manual transmission cars. Due to the fast ramp rate of this camshaft, the use of 1.8 rockers is not recommended.

Also if you want you car to idle better than most i would sufest a single patern cam or something on a 114. I have ran a 224/230 on a 112 and a 228/288 on a 114 and by fair does this cam idle much better. Not to confuse u any more than you already are.

is a good choice. Nice linear torq curve.
If you want something a little more docile but wicked at punch, check MTI
Stealth 1 . 220/220 .581/.581 115lsa
Or better yet:
Custom 224/224 .581/.581 115 lsa
In any case for max power use you are going to have to step up to a 3500 stall range.
Nice car BTW- Very smooth lines IMO- Keep it that way, don't make it rumble like a tin can. Plenty ways to make power (CAMS) without sounding and shaking like a dragster.

From your gears and converter it looks like something around a 220 duration would be perfect. Without the nitrous I would suggest a TR220 or something similar....add nitrous and you might want to look at something custom like a 216/220 or a 218/224 with an XE-R lobe and a 115-116 cl.
The TR cam goober35 suggested would also work well, but I think it is still slightly oversized for your converter. If you look at his mod list he is running a lot bigger converter than you.
Another good cam for nitrous is the LPE GT2-3 although it is very small compared to anything discussed above.
I will also add that you shouldn't be scared of a single pattern cam with nitrous. The split patterns will give better gains with nitrous, but there are lots of people running a single pattern cam and doing it very well with nitrous.
I really think you would be best served by finding a cam to match your gears and converter. This will make the best running street machine.

Thanks for all the input guys. Well three days after I said I was not doing a cam I bought a TR220. LOL I swear I got it bad. I will only shoot N2O at the track so this cam should be just what the doctor ordered for daily operations. Im off................
