Slower w/ drag radials???
I don't get it, on 275/40/17 Goodyear F1's I go 12.554 @ 111.12, I switch to BFG 255/50/16 Drag Radials and go 12.599@ 108.94 best???? Of course the Drag Radial #'s are more consistent. Both of these runs were in cooler weather, the 12.55 in October and the 12.599 in April. Does cold air make that much difference? I ran at the GM EFI Shootout at E-Town Saturday with a best run of 12.700 @ 109.16. It was good enough for runner-up though! I just don't get it, maybe I'm venting a little, but If someone could shed some light on this I'd appreciate it.

You have to factor humidity, barometer, and temperature. Not sure what kind of temps you were running with, but a 40 degree dif in temperature can make about 3 tenths difference or so. So a 20 degree difference would still make a difference of over a tenth.

Thanks for the input guys! There was at least a 20 degree difference or more, humidity was low though. I didn't realize it would make that much difference. Regardless, the car ran the # all day!

ummmm i cant believe noone brought this up , what was your 60' for both runs.
although temp and humidity ect ect have alot to do with your 1/4 times, your 60' times are not effected as much.
if your 60's were better with the drags then they will be your best bet,
but if you 60' better with the f1's then the drags are doig you no good.
with the drags you should be coming out of the hole more aggressively.

i put DR's on my Camaro. I slowed down almost 2 tenths. My only reasoning is that i was cutting 1.93 60fts on dunlop sport 5000's as to 1.98(best) on dr's. Im on a factory stall so i'm leaving at basically 600-800rpms. BTW if you put 50/16 and 40/17's next to each other...they're basically the exact same height.
