Colapsed Lifter possibly??
So I just got done putting in patriot gold dual springs on my X1 cam 97000 mile car......
is the spring pressure too high on the patriot duals for my lifters?
I put an Idle up to temp heat cycle on them.....
decided that heat cylce #2 was going to be highway driving... below 2000 rpm's on my way out to the Girlfriends house.....
so I started driving...and about 15miles into it ( 65mph 6th gear 1500ish rpm's) I hear this ticking...that is getting louder...and now is a clacking sound...
cant seem to localize it.....looked under the valve covers and didn't see any broken springs..... and I dont thinkl it is loud enough to be a spun bearing...from what I understand that sounds like the motor is coming apart when that happens.....and my noise is just a clacking that speeds up with rpm's

check and make sure your rocker bolts are tight, also might wanna check and see if you have a bent pushrod, if they both are good a collapsed lifter is always a possibility

rocker bolts are tight... double checked them when I pulled the valve covers to check to see if it was a broken spring

How much did you torq them?
But did you check if the harlands were hitting the retainers. I've read a couple of threads when they made contact on spring retainers that are slightly larger than stock.
